The first generation (R53) BMW mini's, the R50 (Cooper Coupe), and R53 (Cooper S Coupe) were launched in 2000, with the R53 Cooper S 'John Cooper Works' car available from March 2003. All these variants were replaced by the generation 2 cars (R55, R56 and R57) at the end of 2006, with the launch of the R56 Cooper S 'John Cooper Works' car in 2007. Both of these 'John Cooper Works' mini's offered a performance air intake which replaced the restrictive paper panel filter and Air Cleaner Upper with an equally restrictive cylindrical paper filter and restyled Air Cleaner Cover. j1 automotive offer a simple replacement to this filter offering increased power* and torque* and is very simple to install. |
